Mike Ostermiller graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Political Science. He then graduated from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law in 1999. Upon completing law school Mike practiced law primarily in the area of civil litigation. His diverse practice focused on real estate, development, as well as construction, contract and corporate law.

While practicing law, Mike also worked as an adjunct professor at Dixie State College and Weber State University teaching various political science, debate and law-related courses.

Mike currently serves on a number of Boards including the Military Installation Defense Alliance (MIDA) (Appointed by Speaker of the House Brad Wilson), the State of Utah Affordable Housing Task Force (Appointed by Governor Gary Herbert), The Utah Land Use Institute, Utah Property Rights Ombudsman, Encircle, The No More Victims Initiative, and Ascent Charter School. Mike is also an Honorary Commander at Hill Force Base.

Mike has been a Shareholder/Partner in the law firm of Kyler, Kohler & Ostermiller since 2002. His practice focuses on legislative advocacy and government affairs. In this capacity, he represents a diverse clientele including: Apple, Comcast, Uber, Dominion Energy, Nomi (test Utah), Steward Hospitals, GSK Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Cyrq Energy, Columbia Care, the Utah Association of Realtors, Utah Property Rights Coalition, Utah Apartment Association, PEW Charitable Trust Foundation, Saunders Outdoor Advertising, Advantage Capital, The Utah Auto Dealers Association, Lexi Learning, Spin Scooters, Associated General Contractors, Justice Action Network, Roseman University and Western Governor’s University.

Mike lives in Kaysville, Utah with his wife and four children.
